Papa G's Costa Rica Surf Forecast

Tuesday the 15th, size could back off slightly but overall the swell is going to hold some power, and should be showing in the head high to several feet overhead range with stand out deepwater spots still seeing DOH surf.

Wednesday the 16th as the first pulse of SSW ever so slightly backs off, we’re going to see a new pulse filling in adding more 17-19 second energy to the mix. This should help boost wave heights on the bigger sets back up a little bit. Stand out spots should be seeing surf in the overhead to several feet overhead range, with deepwater spots DOH and bigger.

Thursday the 17th with the new pulse of SSW filling in wave heights should still be in the overhead to several feet overhead range. Not too much change as far as I can see. Deepwater spots will probably be bigger, as long as they like the 15-16 second periods.

Friday the 18th another pulse of SSW (205-215) should build and its looking slightly bigger. Wave heights could be in the overhead to several feet overhead with standouts spots seeing DOH and possibly even bigger at deepwater breaks.

Saturday the 19th looking pretty much just like Friday with lots of SSW in the water and size holding in the overhead to several feet overhead/DOH range.

Sunday the 20th it looks like there should be more SSW still in the water, but increasing issues with possible hurricane activity off the coast of Guatemala and El Salvador. More on that later on.

Beyond that more S-SSW swell is expected to keep coming for the weekend.
