Vida Verde

Vida Verde is putting the common phrase "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" into action by forming a community centered around creating resources rather than consuming them. Through organic farming, alternative energy, recycling, and a communal spirit this sustainable community allows it's members to enjoy a life based around the ocean and surfing. By producing food, energy, and using alternative building techniques members are able to drastically reduse their monthly existences, and even generate income. While a consumer based lifestyle tends to mean longer work days to pay for products produced by others, the Vida Verde way of life enables members to produce basic commodities for themselves leaving more time for surfing and personal enjoyment. Loma Del Mar Surf Club

The Developers Behind Loma del Mar

Loma Del Mar began as a surf camp almost 15 years ago. Richard Garson and his family conceived an idea to provide a place for surfers which would serve as a base for surf expeditions. It was in fact the first surf camp in the Hermosa area, featuring surfing instruction and trips each day to find the best waves in the area. They were documented each day on the Rovercam.com, another pioneering effort of Richard’s. Richard has also done other real estate developments in the area including Cabinas Las Olas, Encanta del Rio, and various homes and lots on Calle Hermosa in Playa Hermosa. With partner Bob Wright he is transitioning Loma Del Mar into a surf community.

Chirripo Eco Farm

This 80 acre farm boasts 15 acres of fruit trees, 5 acres of organic vegetable gardens and fish farms, 30 acres of primary and secondary forest, and 30 acres of reforestation.
